What's new in WrenchDesk

Every change that matters to a workshop, newest first. Everything here is already live in every workspace, with nothing to install.

    • Fixed

Previews, phones and your own pages

Document previews open again instead of showing a blank box, the top bar fits on a phone (help and language moved into your menu), the logo on your booking and tracking pages leads to your workshop rather than to WrenchDesk, and the Documents and branding page is the Admin's, like the other workspace settings.

    • Improved

To the fils and the baisa

Workshops paid in Kuwaiti, Bahraini, Jordanian, Iraqi, Libyan or Tunisian dinars or Omani rials now keep three decimals everywhere: prices, VAT, invoices, payments, the printouts and the reports.

    • New

      Try it live

Open a working WrenchDesk workshop full of sample data from wrenchdesk.net/demo, with no sign-up: the board, jobs, invoices, stock and reports. It's rebuilt every night, and nothing you do there reaches a real customer.

    • New

A 30-day trial, and WhatsApp us

Leave your e-mail and phone number on the site for a 30-day trial instead of 14, and message the team on WhatsApp from any page.

    • New

      A bigger public site

WrenchDesk.net now has an FAQ, guides for running a workshop, comparisons with Excel, paper job cards and accounting software, a page per city, this What's new page, an About page and the refund policy. Every page is in Arabic and English at its own address.

    • New

      Permissions per person

Give one person an area their role doesn't open, or take one away, from Users → Access. A login can also work without customers' phone numbers.

    • New

      Approve new devices

Switch it on and a member of staff signing in from a phone or computer not seen before waits until you approve it. You get a line in the bell and a push alert.

    • New

      Your own document design

Choose a theme, colour, logo size, stamp, signature, bank details and terms once, and every invoice, estimate and printout follows it, on letterhead paper too. PDFs are also much smaller.

    • New

      Customer cheques

Record the cheque number, the bank and the date it can be cashed. A post-dated cheque counts in your money on its date, and a bounced one reopens the balance.

    • Fixed

      Customer page with hidden prices

For a login that works without prices, the customer's figures no longer stretch into empty boxes.

    • New

      Ask your garage

Ask a question in plain words, such as "which technician made the most this month?", and get an answer with tables and charts from your own records. The assistant can also write the inspection report for the customer.

    • New

      Insurance claims and fleet accounts

One invoice split between the insurer and the customer, and fleet customers with credit terms, drivers on each car and a single monthly bill.

    • New

Staff: payroll, leave, attendance and HR letters

Monthly payroll with payslips and the WPS salary file, leave balances and end-of-service, attendance from the phone or a fingerprint device with overtime into payroll, employee documents with reminders, and contracts and letters on your letterhead.

    • New

      Purchasing and stock, further

Send the purchase order to the supplier as a PDF, return parts with a supplier credit note, write off damaged stock, and import parts from Excel or Tally.

    • New

      Money accounts and the books

Cash drawers, bank, card and petty cash as accounts, with profit and loss, cash flow, the balance sheet and a VAT return helper.

    • New

Quick invoice, quotations and your own numbering

Invoice at the counter without a job, quote before a job and turn the quotation into one, record outside costs on a job, keep receipts on expenses, and number every document your own way.

    • New

Online booking and the customer's page

Customers book online and approve the estimate on their own tracking page. Add a waiting-room screen for the TV, and a calendar feed for your phone.

    • New

      Customers and their cars

Each customer's own language and tax type, a review request after the job, vehicle documents with expiry alerts, a scan of the registration card that fills the car in, and SMS as a second channel.

    • New

At the gate and on the floor

Check-in and check-out reports signed on the screen, the gate pass, the delivered step, ready-made checklists and jobs, hidden prices for mechanics, push alerts on the phone, and help on every page.

    • New

      The workshop board

Every car in the workshop on one screen, by stage, with a wall display for the TV in the bay.

    • Fixed

      Smaller fixes

The longest document numbers fit, a zero cost shows as 0.00 on statements, and pressing Enter in a dialog no longer submits the page behind it.

    • New

      A smarter WhatsApp

The chat answers "is my car ready?" and "what do I owe?", the customer approves the estimate on WhatsApp, every job has a tracking link, voice notes and photos become inquiries, and your staff get a suggested reply and a brief on the customer.

    • New

Estimates, appointments, the job card and tax invoices

Estimates with the customer's approval on record, appointments with bays and the day-before reminder, intake with photos and checklists, and tax invoices with registration numbers, the ZATCA QR and PDF by WhatsApp or e-mail.

    • New

Money, stock and customers in depth

Discounts, deposits, refunds, credit notes, statements and aging; parts received in batches with average cost, barcodes and imports; company accounts with contacts; technician lanes and the shop floor; follow-ups by mileage and season; and parts suggested from past jobs.

    • Improved

      Faster to use every day

A command palette and keyboard shortcuts, notifications, bulk actions, a dark theme, install-as-app on the phone, and the owner's morning summary on WhatsApp.

    • Fixed

      Smaller fixes

Times you type follow the workshop's clock wherever the device is, a logo upload no longer clears the settings you were editing, names in any script show correctly, messages written for you follow the language on your screen, and the appointment form says plainly when a customer has no car on file.

    • New

      The WhatsApp assistant

Link your workshop's own number, and an assistant answers customers at any hour in their dialect, records the customer, the car and what they need, and stands down the moment your team replies.

    • New

      Offers and follow-ups

Send an offer to the customers most likely to come back, paced so your number stays safe, and follow-ups the assistant writes for you.

    • New

      Plans in dirhams

Starter, Pro and Business, with assistant credit packs. The trial is Pro for fourteen days.

    • Improved

      Correctness and trust

Days follow your workspace's time zone, two people can't take the same part twice, documents are kept with their records, every change to money is in the audit trail, and accounts are better protected.

    • New

      Pay for your plan online

Choose a plan and pay by card, monthly or yearly, and cancel from the app whenever you like.

    • New

Employees, commissions and your own name

Employees with referral commissions on jobs, your company's name and logo across the workspace, and staff ID and residence permit dates.

    • Improved

      Sign-up and the look

Sign-up fills in your country, currency and time zone, the menu can be collapsed, e-mails display properly in every mail app, and the product wears its own artwork.

    • Fixed

      Safer sign-in from day one

Changing a password or a role ends the old sessions at once, sign-in is harder to guess at, and an interrupted export finishes instead of failing.

    • New

      WrenchDesk opens

Every workshop gets its own workspace at its own address, with a free trial, its own settings, plans and limits, a full export and an audit trail of every change.
