Questions and answers
What workshop owners usually ask before they try WrenchDesk. If yours isn't here, ask the assistant at the bottom of the page or write to support@wrenchdesk.net.
Getting started
What is WrenchDesk?
Software for running a car repair workshop. It covers job cards, estimates the customer approves on the phone, appointments, tax invoices, parts stock and purchasing, customers and fleets, money, staff and reports, plus an assistant on your own WhatsApp number. It runs in the browser in Arabic and English, and each workshop gets its own address, like your-garage.wrenchdesk.net.
How long is the free trial, and do I need a card?
The trial lasts 14 days and asks for no card or payment details. You get the full product with up to three branches and as many staff and jobs as you like, plus 50 WhatsApp assistant conversations. Choose a plan whenever you are ready, and nothing is charged if you don't.
How long does it take to set up?
Creating the workspace takes a few minutes: the name, the address, your e-mail. You can start it with demo data to look around first. Then add your branches, staff and price list. Customers and parts come in from a CSV or Excel file, so you don't type them again.
Does it work on a phone or a tablet?
Yes. It works in any modern browser and can be installed on a phone like an app. Technicians have a shop-floor view made for the phone: their jobs, the job card, photos and the checklist.
Can someone show me around first?
Yes. Book a demo and someone from the team calls you back within one working day, on WhatsApp or by phone, with no obligation.
Prices and billing
How much does it cost?
Plans start at AED 179 a month. Each one sets how many branches, staff and jobs it includes, and how many WhatsApp assistant conversations each month. Paying for a year costs ten months' price. The pricing table shows them all.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, from inside the product, with no call needed. The workspace keeps working until the end of the period you paid for, and your data stays readable and exportable afterwards. The refund policy has the details.
What if it isn't for me?
Stop before the trial ends and nothing is charged. If you paid for a year, the first yearly payment is refunded in full when you ask within 14 days (refund policy). Either way your data stays yours: export all of it any day, and after you stop the workspace stays readable for at least 90 days.
What is an assistant credit?
One conversation between a customer and the WhatsApp assistant uses one credit. Each plan includes a number of credits a month, and you can buy more packs if you need them. Messages your own staff send don't use credits.
How do I pay?
By card, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. Receipts, card changes and past payments are under Plan & billing in your workspace.
What it does
Does it issue VAT invoices, and the ZATCA QR for Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Invoices carry your tax registration number and the customer's, and Saudi invoices carry ZATCA's phase-one QR code, on simplified and standard tax invoices. There is a VAT return report as well. Sending invoices to ZATCA's platform (phase two) is not offered yet.
Can WhatsApp ban my number?
It can happen, so WrenchDesk keeps the risk low. Your number links to WrenchDesk once, the same way you link a computer to WhatsApp, and answering customers who wrote to you first is ordinary use. What WhatsApp restricts is the same text sent to many people at once, so offers go out slowly: one message every three to five minutes, only between 9 am and 9 pm your time, only to the customers you pick, each with the customer's own name and car in it. Customers who asked for no offers are skipped, and a campaign stops itself after three failed sends in a row.
What if the internet goes down?
WrenchDesk runs online, so the screens need a connection to reach your records, and they say so when it drops. Everything you saved is kept on the servers, not on the computer, so a cut line or a dead PC loses nothing that was saved. The WhatsApp assistant runs on the servers too and keeps answering customers in the meantime. A phone on mobile data makes a good backup: the same workspace opens on it.
Can customers approve an estimate from their phone?
Yes. Send the estimate on WhatsApp or by e-mail, and the customer opens it on their phone and approves it, line by line if they like. Approved lines go onto the job. The same link shows them where their car is in the workshop.
What does the WhatsApp assistant do, and will it promise prices?
You link your workshop's own WhatsApp number once. The assistant answers customers at any hour in their language and dialect, records the customer, the car and what they need, and steps aside as soon as someone on your team replies. It never promises prices or bookings in your name; those stay with your team.
Can I ask questions about my garage's numbers?
Yes. Ask your garage answers questions in plain words, in Arabic or English: which technician brought in the most, who owes money and since when, which good customers haven't come back, which parts sell most. The answer comes from your own records, in words with a table or a chart. It only reads and never changes a record. Each answer uses one assistant credit.
Can I run several branches?
Yes. Each branch has its own staff, stock, appointments and bays, and the owner sees every branch or one at a time. Staff only see their own branch.
Can I control what each employee sees?
Yes. There are five roles (Admin, Manager, Service advisor, Accountant and Technician), and you can allow or deny any area for one person. A login can also work without seeing prices or customers' phone numbers, and new devices can be made to wait for your approval.
Does it connect to QuickBooks, Odoo or Zoho?
No. WrenchDesk keeps its own books (expenses, money accounts, profit and loss, cash flow, the VAT return), and every list exports to Excel or CSV for your accountant. The whole workspace can be exported too.
Your data
Is it fully in Arabic?
Yes. Every screen, message and printout works in Arabic, right to left, and in English. Each person chooses their own language, and each customer can get their messages and invoices in theirs.
Who can see my workshop's data?
Only your people. Each workshop is a separate workspace, and nothing is shared between workshops. Sign-in can require a second factor, every change is recorded in an audit trail, and you can export everything any day.
What happens to my data if I stop?
The workspace becomes read-only. You can still sign in, read your records and export them for at least 90 days, and nothing is deleted before then.
Which countries is it for?
Workshops in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and their neighbours: Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. Workshops in Türkiye, the UK, the US, Germany and France use it too. Prices, taxes and time follow the country you choose.
